Humane Society & PETA Scam Millions

I’ve known for a while that I hate PETA – come on, who doesn’t hate PETA? They’re a self aggrandizing PR-machine that does sweet f***k all for the actual welfare of actual animals. They are hypocrites. They are liars. They wear stupid costumes, and they kill more animals than they save.

But the HSUS? The Humane Society of the United States? They’re a humane society, for Gods’ sake. They’re supposed to be all about saving animals – ensuring their humane treatment.

Michael Vick &  Wayne Pacelle

The HSUS, who’ve shamelessly used the Vick dogs as a source of fund raising, without lifting one finger to provide them any form of welfare or assistance whatsoever.

Oh, and PETA can bite me, too.
Which it is. A 20 million dollar lie – that’s the estimate of how much money the HSUS raised, with their email campaign soliciting funds for the ‘care of the dogs seized from Michael Vick’. It’s a lie which used the already victimized dogs of Michael Vick to raise money – not for their care, but for the Humane Society of the United States’ own ends. Ends which don’t include live Pit Bulls, by the way.

“Officials from our organization have examined some of these dogs and, generally speaking, they are some of the most aggressively trained pit bulls in the country,” Wayne Pacelle, the president and chief executive of the Humane Society of the United States, said in a telephone interview Tuesday. “Hundreds of thousands of less-violent pit bulls, who are better candidates to be rehabilitated, are being put down. The fate of these dogs will be up to the government, but we have recommended to them, and believe, they will be eventually put down.”

Pacelle said the Humane Society normally advocated that fighting dogs be put down shortly after being seized.

HSUS Auctions Vick NotesAnd now… this. Of all the shameless, heartless, disgusting profiteering that has taken place surrounding this case, this has got to be one of the most completely blatant. The HSUS is auctioning off the notes Michael Vick read from when giving his “I’m sorta sorry” speech.

What are they claiming the money raised will go for?

Two guesses.

Shame on you, HSUS. Shame on you. There’s a special corner of hell reserved for you, and for your brethren at PETA, for being completely unashamed to use a tragedy like this to raise money for your own publicity machines.

Shame on you, and hand over the damned money to the people actually caring for the dogs.

HSUS Scams Millions Of Dollar -Video-

The book HSUS and PETA don't want you to read:  consumerfreedom.com/article_detail.cfm.  Why don't they want you to read it?  Because pet overpopulation isn't the problem they say it is.  I find it interesting that HSUS and PETA both appear to oppose no-kill shelters. It will be a cold day in hell that I ever give a cent to HSUS. Wayne Pacelle is a? rotten mother f***er.

Golden Retriever Gives Birth To Green Puppy ?

The dog is healthy and green, according to the report. Local News showed video of the puppy rolling around with its normal-looking newborn brothers and sisters.

Skeptics said the dog had to be dyed green but the owner said the puppy was born green.

Veterinarians said it is possible for a newborn puppy's fur to be green because the placenta, which is green, rubs off at birth.

Truth About The AKC Papers.

Rally Against The AKC's Support Of Puppy Mills
April 12, 2007 : 12:00 AM
Update April 13, 2007 A number of people showed up today in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania including Best Friends Animal Society to rally against the AKC's support for puppy mills. The rally took place during a seminar the AKC held to help breeders and dog owners oppose regulations of puppy mills and such anti-cruelty measures as anti-chaining laws. For more on this and how you can contact the AKC, read the report below.

An American Kennel Club (AKC) representative, Lisa Peterson, recently stated: “Dogs are … property. …And we like to leave the option to the owner of the property, of the dog, with the breeder…. It's their decision as to how … many intact females to own or how many litters to produce.”

Commercial dog breeders are often “puppy mills”, those businesses that mass produce dogs for sale. There are reportedly 4,000-5,000 puppy mills in the U.S., each with 75 to 150 breeding dogs. Puppy mills are not much different from the factories that churn out toasters, televisions, and the like. Female dogs used for breeding in puppy mills are bred over and over until their bodies give out. The dogs are literally “stored” in cramped, usually filthy, dark cages, given little or no care, and no socialization or human companionship. Dogs in puppy mills have been found starved, with matted fur covered in fleas or tics.

Puppy mills mean big revenues for the AKC. In 2006 the American Kennel Club (AKC) registered 870,000 individual dogs and 416,000 litters. At $20 per dog and $25 per litter (plus $2 per puppy), AKC brought in well over $30 million in revenues from registration of dogs born in puppy mills.

The AKC, though, does not for the most part check to find out if dogs even qualify for registration. The AKC does not actually travel to every breeder’s facility to inspect it. The AKC has announced it “cannot guarantee the quality or health of dogs in its registry.” But AKC is happy to take the money and issue "papers" for the dogs anyway. Usually the "papers' simply list the purebred lineage listed on the application submitted by the breeder.

Most puppy mill dogs are sold in pet stores or online. The consumers believe a dog with AKC registered papers is actually a purebred that is in good health. Of course, many dogs from mills are inbred, provided little or no care or socialization, and have diseases, illnesses or deformities and behavioral problems.

Now the AKC plans to have a seminar called "Legislative Empowerment" where they will teach breeders and other dog owners how to oppose legislation and regulations.

In another example of stunning indifference to cruelty to dogs, AKC announced restrictions on tethering or chaining dogs is "unnecessary". For more on the cruelty and danger of tethering or chaining dogs, click here. A Growing Movement To End The Tethering And Chaining Of Dogs

Dogs Deserve Better, http://www.dogsdeservebetter.com/ is planning a protest at this seminar.

Please join Best Friends and Dogs Deserve Better in a protest at the AKC seminar in Harrisburg at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on Friday, April 13th, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

If you cannot attend the rally, let the AKC know it’s time to stop the exploitive breeding of dogs. It’s time to stop the cruelty from which the AKC is profiting.

feed apple cider vinegar daily to your dog ?

There are many benefits to using apple cider vinegar. It is known to reduce common infections, aid whelping, improve stamina, prevent muscle fatigue after exercise, increase resistance to disease, and protect against food poisoning. Cider vinegar is rich in the vitamins, minerals, and trace elements found in apples, especially potassium; it normalizes acid levels in the stomach, improves digestion and the assimilation of nutrients, reduces intestinal gas and fecal odors, helps cure constipation, alleviates some of the symptoms of arthritis and helps prevent bladder stones and urinary tract infections.

You can feed apple cider vinegar daily to your dog to keep him healthy. Add to the food or water. You may need to gradually increase the amount. Start with a few drops and slowly increase each day until reaching the recommended daily dose below.

The approximate amounts recommended : 1 teaspoon - dogs up to 14 pounds
2 teaspoon - medium dogs -15 to 34 pounds
1Tablespoon - large dogs-35 to 84 pounds

By mixing in the food or water of your dog, apple cider vinegar will restore the acid/alkaline balance of his digestive tract, getting rid of the brown spots in the lawn. A correct PH balance also helps keep away the fleas, black flies, ticks, and other external parasites. Your dog will have less chance of getting ringworm, staph infections, streptococcus, and mange. If your dog already has these problems sponge your dog's skin with a mixture of equal parts of apple cider vinegar with equal amounts of warm water. If you prefer, you can use this mixture in a spray bottle to thoroughly wet your dog.

A NOTE OF CAUTION: Do not use apple cider vinegar if your dog is sensitive or allergic to yeast or if he has a chronic yeast infection. Also, do not give to dogs with irritated intestines.

When the budget's too tight for a best friend

Because of Minnesota's economic downturn, the number of unwanted pets given to local shelters has jumped 50 percent in one year, according to Mike Fry, manager of Animal Ark No-Kill Shelter in Hastings.

People are moving, getting evicted, losing their houses, at the same time, the rate of adoptions into homes is down about 20 percent,," Fry said. "Bad economic conditions always mean bad times for pets."

Bill Stevenson, an officer for St. Paul Animal Control, said he is seeing more animals without vaccinations or routine spaying or neutering - another sign of economic stress.

FDA Seizes Pet Food From Petco Warehouse Supplying Minnesota & Other States

One day after filing a lawsuit against Petco, an animal food and supply company based in San Diego, the FDA seized allegedly contaminated food products from a Petco warehouse in Chicago. An FDA inspection in April and May revealed rodent and bird droppings on or around the pet food containers. Petco stores in Minnesota receive supplies from this warehouse.

Breeder's cruelty exposed after selling hundreds of dogs to pet shops!

Massachusetts families with sick puppy mill dogs want Minnesota dog breeder Kathy Bauck's Pick-of-the-Litter puppy mill shut down.

Cohasset’s Companion Animal Society went undercover and took video of the Pick-of-the-Litter dog-breeding facility in New York Mills, Minnesota. That video is now part of an animal cruelty investigation. The facility's owner, Kathy Bauck, faces charges of animal cruelty and torture. Previously, Bauck spent five nights in jail for practicing veterinary medicine without a license. But it also seems that she denied the dogs life-saving veterinary care and never took even basic measures to alleviate suffering.

800 small dogs.
In the state of Tucson, Arizona About 800 small dogs, including Chihuahuas, terriers and Pomeranians, were seized from a triple-wide mobile home whose occupants were overwhelmed trying to care for the animals.

Some dogs were pregnant and giving birth as they were taken to shelters in Tucson, said Jenny Rose, a spokeswoman for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. Ninety-six dogs were taken from the house Monday and another 700 on Wednesday, she said.

"The home was definitely in very bad condition, urine and feces all over the home, in the kitchen and bedroom, with a very strong odor," she said. "Obviously, 800 dogs in a triple-wide mobile home, they were packed in there. That being said, they were in pretty good shape."

The elderly owners, who have not been identified, were apparently overwhelmed but have cooperated with authorities, sheriff's Sgt. James Ogden said. No charges have been filed, but authorities continue to investigate.

The animals appeared to have had enough food, but a few were missing paws — some from having been attacked by other animals, others apparently having caught their feet in fencing outside, Rose said.

Deputies were alerted this month after a woman who bought a Chihuahua at the home reported the conditions, Ogden said. Wow 800 dogs? thats so bad...

Dog Tags are better than microchips?
It appears one reason why microchips don't always work is because shelters don't always scan! The Genesee County Animal Control failed to scan a golden retriever, which could have ended up in the incinerator if a good samaritan hadn't intervened.
I'm upset to hear that a shelter isn't doing everything it can to return a dog back to its owner.

Not a good time to Breed your dog?
There are a lot of breeders that can't sell there last 2 or 3 puppies because of the bad economy going on in the US, and a lot of Breeders are blaming it on all the new puppy mills being built. It's know wonder there being built, the dogs business haves gone up the last 4 years and every body want some of that money. I hate puppy mills, If every body would stop buying dogs from mills the owner can't make any money, no money no reason to mass produce dogs.
